The Sanskrit word Ujjai means "victorious". This name is named after two words. "G" and "ud" ji mean 'win or gain' by fighting and ud means 'bond'. So it means Ujjayi Pranayama means that Pranayama, which gives freedom from bondage.




Method of Ujjayi Pranayam

We are giving the method of performing Ujjayi Pranayama in detail here, read it carefully.
1. Sit in Sidhasana or Padamasana. Relax the entire body.
2. Inhale normally.
3. After a while, bring your attention to the neck.
4. Feel or imagine that the breath is coming from the throat.
5. When breathing becomes slow and deep, narrow the throat. By doing this, there should be a slow sound in your throat breathing and passing.
6. Now the breath should be long and deep.
7. Breathing through both the left, right nostrils as mentioned above is the complete cycle of a Ujjayi Pranayam.
8. Do this for 10-20 minutes.
9. If you have trouble sitting for a long time, Ujjayi Pranayama can also be done by lying down or getting stiff.

1. If you have any heart disease, practice Ujjayi Pranayama without stopping breath.

2. Before doing pranayama, take a bath. If we feel refreshed after bathing, it helps to fully reap the benefits of Pranayama. By doing this, your body will be completely filled with mind and soul.

3. There should be enough air in the place where you do pranayama. Fresh air is very important, so if you are doing pranayama in a room, then the windows remain open or else it causes dizziness. There should be no noise at that place so that you can concentrate on your practice.
