Sukhasana : Method, Precaution & Benefits || Sukhasana Karne ki vidhi, Savdhaniyan Aur Labh

Sukh means happiness. This posture is called Sukhasana because of sitting Cross leg. Although, the posture in which one feels pleasure from sitting is also called Sukhasana, but since ancient times, the posture that sits  Cross leg has been considered as Sukhasana.



Method :

Relax and sit on the floor, bending your knees. (See picture) Keep hands on your lap or on your knees. Keep the spinal cord, cervix and head straight.

Breathing: With Pranayama / as per custom.

Time: as much as possible.

Direction: East or North (for spiritual benefit).

Benefit :

This is an excellent posture for meditation.

Use of this asana is beneficial while eating.

Those who are unable to apply Padmasana for meditation can use this asana.

This asana is mostly performed in worship.

This asana is beneficial in  peace of mind and keeping the body healthy.
