Method, Precautions & Benefits of  Suryabhedhan Pranayama ||  Suryabhedhan Pranayama karne ka Tarika, Savdhania aur Fayde [2020-21]

Surya is the symbol of the Pingala Nadi and the meaning of bhedhan is 'to penetrate' 'to pass through' or 'to awaken'. Thus Suryabheda means penetrating or refining the Pingala pulse(Pingala pulse in the left garden of the body). This pranayama increases the efficiency of the nervous system and digestive system.



Method of performing Suryabhedan Pranayama

1. First of all sit in a comfortable posture. Keep head and waist straight. Place your hands on your knees in chin or Gyana mudra

2. Close the eyes and relax the entire body.

3. When the body becomes calm and relaxed, then pay attention to your breath for some time.

4. Then close the left nostril with the ring finger of the right hand and breathe slowly through the right nostril.

5. Similarly, do the same procedure with the other nostril.

6. Repeat this process for 10 to 15 minutes.

7. You can also increase the duration gradually.


Benefits of Suryabhedana Pranayam 

1. This pranayama enhances the body's actions.

2. By this pranayama, stomach worms also die.

3. If you feel very cold in the legs during winter, then this pranayama is very beneficial. Doing this will create warmth in your feet.

4. This pranayama increases your appetite.

5. It is very good pranayama for cold and phlegm, asthma or other respiratory problems.

6. Suryabhedana Pranayama also fixes the problem of low blood pressure.

7. This pranayam also reduces the problem of gas in the stomach.
